A walk around Peninnis head

Last time I was on Scilly I found myself with an hour or so a spare time so decided to take a walk around Peninnis Head into Hugh Town from Old Town where I was staying. It was a lovely day that was a surprise for me a the forecast was bad.
The light for photography was perfect and the low tide ideal for spotting waders at Old Town. On my short walk that only took half an hour I saw Stonechat,Chaffinch,Sparrows,Oyster Catchers, Turnstones, Great Black Backed Gulls, Herring Gulls, Heron, Little Egret, Greenshank, Curlew, Robin,Thrush,Blackbirds, Pied Wagtail, Rock Pipits, Kestrel,Gannets,Shags and there was probably lot more that I didn't notice.
It goes to show how amazing Scilly is!
These birds were not only present but also much friendlier than what I have seen on the mainland. My camera is a Canon Powershot Sx 10is and I am very pleased with it, most of the birding websites I visit the photographers are using far higher spec cameras and kit. I achieved comparable shots on Scilly with my "Bridge" camera being able to get so much closer to my subject.
It is something I took for granted living on Scilly, but now I have been on many cliff walks on the mainland the variety of birds you can see on Scilly is amazing by comparison.
I'll let the pics do the talking!

Inspired by Steve Rogers' pictures of a Stonechat on Marazion beach I have decided to post my best photo of this male Stonechat that I took on  my last trip to the Isles of Scilly last  month.
The light was particularly good and this pic was easy to take seeing as this lovely bird was less than 6 feet away from me perching on the willow bush.
I have several more photos to add from this day and will try and get them on later..
